SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Josephine Quarterly accepts only unpublished poetry and art.

Poetry
Submit up to 5 poems of any length

Art
Submit up to 2 images

• There is no fee to submit and we award our contributors $30 per poem or art piece. We also nominate select contributors for the Best of the Net Anthology and for Pushcart Prizes.

• We only accept art and poetry submissions via the online submission manager, Submittable: Josephine Quarterly Submission Manager. We will only consider one submission at a time, which we ask for you to respect since we only accept 200 submissions a month. Our response time is 7-10 weeks.

• Acceptable file formats for poetry submissions include .doc, .docx, .rtf, and .pdf. Acceptable file formats for cover art submissions include .jpeg, .gif, and .png. Artwork should be able to fit A6 dimensions (105mm × 148mm or 4.13" × 5.83") and should be as high a resolution as your computer can manage.

• Simultaneous submissions are welcome as long as the editors are immediately notified if your work is accepted elsewhere. If a poem has been accepted elsewhere and it is still under consideration with us, please add a note within your submission via Submittable. 

• Upon acceptance, Josephine Quarterly acquires first serial rights (one-time and nonexclusive) to publish an author's work online.
